With a fuel pressure gauge. It screws on to the schraeder valve on the fuel rail under the cowl. Fuel pressure should be 41-47 lbs with the key on/engine off. Once you start the engine it should drop by 5-10lbs and stay there. If the pressure is much higher or lower than those ranges you probably have either a bad fuel pressure regulator or pump. You can pick up a decent pressure gauge for under $20.

on the valve springs what would the the advantage of LT-4 springs over stock?
