high idle while moving

finally got the idle set right

rpm ~900
TP(v) .55
TP(%) 0
iac ~50

and it idles right at or around 900 when stopped, however if i am moving at all it stays around 2k even in neutral with the clutch in or out, but as soon as i come to a stop (no change in gear, clutch or throttle) it drops right down to where it should be

any ideas would be appreciated

The idle speed is normally elevated in the stock programming when the vehicle is moving (VSS not = 0). 2K would appear to be a bit high though. I think the elevated RPM is controlled by the "follower" table, or something like that.

is it possible that the IAC was controlling the idle before i adjusted the throttle blades properly and now it just needs to re-learn itself or something

my car is loud as it is and i usually try to just roll through my community to avoid annoying people any more than i already do and 2k is very loud

A higher idle when moving as previously stated is normal. Mine is in the
1200-1400 range and 2k sounds a bit high. Mine will also on occasion stay
at the high idle for 8-10 seconds after stopping, but it eventually settles
down to the normal idle.

Have you tried adjusting the iac follower vs mph in tunecat?. i think there are a couple of threads in the computer programing section.

dangalla, if you have a scanner, check your IAC when running. In the throttle follower table the stock setting for over 0 mph= IAC +5, 4 mph = IAC +8, 8 mph IAC + 8 and 12-64 MPH adds +12 to IAC. Your original post said IAC was at 50 during idle. so you s/b running IAC 63 when over 12 mph. For you setup not sure where 63 will get you but 2K may be high ? See what Bryan has to say..

just talked with bryan, man another +1 for pcmforlesss, so willing to help as much as he can

he said to reset the kam, back off the throttle plate a bit to get the iac around 65 at idle, and to set the TPS a little higher around .67.

gonna do that after work and see how that goes

well i set the TPS at exactly .67 and reset the kam

i left the shop and it was around 1500, an improvement. and by the time i got home ~10 miles it was down around 1200. so i guess thats about normal

thanks for all the input everyone

I have a similar set up in the works, I hope that it is worth the trouble.
(the pain is worth the gain)
