high idle, erratic shifting ??
high idle, erratic shifting ?? fixed
Just got finished putting new header gaskets on the passenger side ( was a bad leak ). Once I started it up, it idled at 1800, then lowered to 1300 after about 3-5 minutes. Drove home about 5 miles and it stayed in each gear way too long, then around 55 I wetn WOT and it dropped to 3rd instead of 2nd.
Yesterday I put new PCV valve in and plugged the Tb side where the line comes out of the passenger valve cover, and put a breather on the valve cover. The only thing I wasnt happy with is that when changing the PCV valve the elbow had a qtr inch hole in it, so I replaced that as well but the new hose I put is kinda kinked ( not completely, but it is kinked ). But I did that yesterday and there was no noticeable change.
Any ideas?
EDIT: put a new TPS in and all is well.

no help yet......
Well I looked everythign over, it all seemed to be right. So I took it out just now and the SES came on. With the car WOT it is shifting ( or maybe the converter is locking and unlocking) up and down. Dunno

OK, I have relentlessly searched this forum and one other on my problem. Seems a few of you have had the same problem but noone posted what fixed it. GGRRR.
Seems all of us have traced it back to vacuum on the passenger side, well I have went over it numerous times yesterday and this morning, it all looks fine!
Hopefully one of you reading this knows what I need to look for, thanks in advance.
