Benefits:

More power potential
Your engine won't blow up
Cures those nasty lean conditions

Cons:
It costs money
It's a pita to install...

Big lift #s or forced induction people usually go with a 255lph to avoid having their new engine take a dump- it's really just insurance. Of course if your engine is already having problems you will see a hp gain. For near stock the only benefits are peace of mind...

Agreed. What mods do you have? If you're predominantly stock, a high flow pump won't do anything for you (unless your stocker is almost dead).

Just be glad you don't have a Ferrari or something...

These cars are on the very cheap side of modding. A few hundred bucks on intake and exhaust and you just gained more hp to the wheels than a scion with a 2k$ supercharger....

There are ways to test the stock fuel pump before you go buy a new one!

Take a fuel pressure gauge and hook it up. Tape the gauge to the windshield and go take the car out for a good run. You should be able to maintain constant fuel pressure for the whole time your foots in it. If it doesn't, then either the filter (you did change that didn't you? ) or the pump is bad.

I agree with Josh, check your current pump with the fuel pressure gauge; no gain in replacing a perfectly good pump!
