Hiccup?

Okay, i don't know much about the technical workings of an engine to be able to diagnose problems but...replaced opti and water pump today. Figured car would run good now. But i have a small hiccup when accelerating. Dad says he hears it knocking. If i'm running 87 will it cause the engine to do this and will it kick on the SES light?

prolly opti wire, another thing it could be is bad valve guides getting oil on plugs or too rich. Take your plugs out & look at them, I had an old set of heads get bad guides due to wrong valve train geometry which caused a hick up going up hills every once in a while when I would start accelerating.
