how to install an underdrive pulley

how to install an underdrive pulley

i just bought a undercrive pulley. i came with three long bolts and a belt. i think its a piggy back style. how do i install it. i think i take off the crank pulley and slid this one on then but the crank pulley back on. i just want to make sure though before i start. also what kinda gains will i see with my currnet mods.

also how long will it take. i have all the tools.

I think the underdrive pulley IS the crank pulley if I'm correct...... Although I've never done one, i assume you just take the 3 bolts off, pull the old one off, and put the new one on in its place. As far as gains, a lot of people say they are only good for about 5 hp, but I guess every bit counts.

You take the 3 bolts off the balancer. You then slide the underdrive pulley on the hub. Then take your balancer and put it up to the pulley. You will piggy back the two together. And then tighten it back up and get a shorter belt. The reason is the stock pulley is a dampner/pulley combination. You have to run that dampner on the front of the pulley. It will take out engine vibrations and such.
