Angry hesitation with headers?

After installing hooker long tubes, and working out wire/plug problems, there seems to be a little hesitation that wasnt there before. Ive heard that you can loose some low end torq with headers, and gain upper end hp, but it dont seem to be running right crusing under 2krpm. I ran open headers for a while, and heard vibration can cause old coils to get weak. My car has 112k mi on it. Any ideas. Thanks.

I would look into your opti. But before that I would check your plugs, wires and ignition coil.

Ive replaced plugs and wires three different times. Ive also replaced the opti, no difference. I guess the opti was just good insurance anyway. The coil I havnt done. Could that affect certain rpm, and not others. There is no miss by the way, just kinda sluggish. Could this be due to plugging the egr tube, and removing the air pump with factory programing.

Did you plug all the holes the air pump used? Check that.

Did you cover the EGR port on the back of the intake manifold?

I cut, crimped, and welded the egr tube to seal it. As far as the air tubes, do they go anywhere else. I removed the pump, so I figured the tubes went nowhere, and no they are not plugged. Could this be my problem?

Hesitation??? Is this a 6-speed car or a automatic car?? After my headers, I would get a bog going on in the upper gears (4th, 5th, 6th)...turned out that I was experiencing 9 degrees of knock retard. Do you have an LT4 KM??? Make sure also that you patch up ANY exhaust leaks, no matter how small and no matter where they are at. I have an exhaust leak coming from the cutout and I just fixed it (well...most of it) and no more hesitation/bogging.

Just a thought..

I just replaced the header gaskets with copper ones, and mixed and matched allen head and 3/8 head bolts to clamp them down better. Also replaced cutout gaskets. Runs better, but im not sure its 100%. DubbyZ28Camaro, you live in Lincoln. I used to live in North Platte, and went to Lincoln about every other weekend to visit my college friends that moved there. Lots of great memories. I found many races on O st. Also a fox body mustang with open headers that embarrased me. Oh well I beat his '95 modded GT just as bad. Great memories. There is a blue ls1 camaro there that beat me as well. He claimed to be stock, but I doubt it. Got that one on video.
