I know that some cars have this from the factory, but I don't really see the point. Unless you have an electric water pump to also circulate the coolant, the engine is not going to get any cooler.
The ignition has to be on for this to work though.

The added relay can be wired to an always hot source.

There is no info provided on what year your car is (pet peeve ), so I cannot tell you if the stock fan relays will work with the key off (96-97s do).

I actually don't have any fan switches on my car, but do have two LEDs to tell me when the fans are on.
that is pretty cool. how do you change the a4 shifting points with the button?

95. So u have another way to make the fans stay on after the key is off other than using the blue and green wires?

It's a feature built into the PCM of 94 and 95s and was a factory option on the Firebirds but not Camaros (all you have to do on the Camaro is add a button to activate it).
The PCM has two different sets of shift tables (and other transmission parameters). One for performance mode and one for standard mode. You just press the switch to toggle between them at any time.

In the case of a pre-96, you could use another added relay to provide the power to operate the fans with the key off . There are several different ways you could make all this work. It's just a matter of looking at the factory schematic and adding in what you need.

It will work on the 1993-1994 2 relay fan system. Just remember that those fans work as primary and secondary and not low and high speed like the later 3 relay fans do.
