Talking here we go again, cam help please :(

hey guys,

i'm getting ready to open up my motor in favor for a bigger cam.

i have the xe 224/230 and 230/236 in front of me. i'm using the 224/230 for my current motor and the 230/236 for my rebuild i have in my garage.i will have ported heads soon. but not for another year or so.

how much will i notice from the 224/230 over my lil hotcam.

i'm using crane springs good for .600 lift

i wanna get rid of the hot cam, and i'm selling it on the for slae section. so what do you think, keep the hotcam and wait 1-2 years for heads to come around or throw the cam in and enjoy my money?

will this 224/230 work with stock heads?

I would go with 224-230 b/c of the more agressive lobes and it's a little bigger but it's not going to be a drastic change for the Hotcam 218-228 you know what I mean. i didn't look at your sig but it looks like you need a converter and some tires before another camshaft if you want to be fast in the 1/4. You probably need some PCM tuning too. My heavy a$$ T/A 3740lbs. ran 12.30's@110mph with 3.42 gears. It also ran 12.50's with the stock 3.23's and a 2800 vigilante. So the Hotcam is a real good cam with tuning and a convetrer. I am going to swap cams next week also but it's a custom ground cam for my setup. I also don't drive my car to work everyday anymore so I wanted something more radical and would like to get into the 11's N/A without gutting my T/A.
