I think this is causing a vacuum leak for me, looks like a little round pod thing toward the firewall on the passenger side. 2 hoses go into it, the top is just open, but I think the other hose i have in my hand in the pic goes to the top where the open hole is.

If anyone can let me know what the part number is to that part and what it is called, i would greatly appreciate it.

thanks a lot shoebox, just called gm also, and they have it in stock, and they said the same part number.

one more question, what problem could this cause in the long run.

I think the shop might have broken it when they put my 383 in last summer, but i didn't catch it until recently and i haven't tried to mess with my car for months now.

 

If it is broken, you would have a small vacuum leak and your HVAC mode controls would not work properly.
