Help, what is going on with my car

Just dropped new motor in not too long ago. Put some miles on it. It's been at the dyno shop for quite some time now trying to figure out where the somewhat of a missfire is coming from. First, just had a couple dips in the graph and the graph was really jagged. Then it went to actualy missfires, then it would start cutting out really bad at 6000 rpms, now it won't even start. Was all brand new MSD ignition, brand new plugs. He's pretty much down to the optispark (although no codes) or the computer. What do you guys think. If you want to see the graph and mods, go to page 7 in my car domain.

Fuel Pressure is fine, it holds and doesn't bleed off.

Sounds like ignition related. I would check all the new parts and make sure they are all good. Maybe the opti is bad.

What did you gap the plugs to? Check under the hood at night, look for any arcing. Did you take the MSD opti apart and loctite the rotor screws?

Ok, plugs are gapped at .035 becuase we thought we might be having an ignition issue, so we thought we would close the gap up a little just in case. I did take the opti apart to loctite the rotor screws (maybe possible I didn't get the screws tight enough) because this seems as what the problem is, but I could be wrong. No burning plugwires. With it not even starting now, I'm thinking opti related. Tuner says that he's getting spark to the coil, just doesn't seem to be hitting when it's suppose to, which is why he thinks possibly computer.

If you have misfires, you should have codes. What scanner are you using to access the data? If you have one with "enhanced parameters" you can get the actual misfire count by individual cylinder. That might point you to the source of the problem.

The Opti only sets codes for problems with the optical sensor section, not for the high voltage (cap & rotor). That's why you need to focus on the misfire count.

I'm not sure what type of scanner he's using, but he said it has gotten worse, where it just cuts out now

Did you find the issue? What specs is that cam?

Did you get it back on the dyno? If so, I would like to hear what power it made!

.243/.251 @ .050 duration
.597/.602 lift w/1.6

Still in the shop, fuel pump went out, possibly some of my issues. I was up to 380 rwhp before this, so we'll see where I end up.

Dont use MSD opti, use GM works better less issues.

Maybe the fuel pump was the issue all together, did you get a new one in yet?

In the process of putting the fuel pump in. When I built the motor, I was hoping for 400 rwhp, which I thought was a realistic goal considering our elevation and it's through a 3600 vig stall, but I don't know if I'm going to make it or not. I'll post up when issues are all resolved.
