help with waterpump and pulley!!!!

i have a problem ,i cant take the pulley bolts out. im doing an opti install and when i try to turn the bolt the whole pulley moves so i put the car o 1st gear and when i turned i heard a noise from the tranny i guess . so how can i turn the bolts w/o the pulley moving? and also do you put rtv sealant on water pump gaskets??
thanks.

Lot of WD-40, etc
Put a 1/2" breaker bar and the correct socket size for the crank-hub as a backup, while using the same for the pulley, pull and push technique.
Yes use some good Permatex Hi-Temp RTV (orange, etc) for the water pump gaskets, make sure you clean them good. You don't have to take the hub completely off just has to be turned a certain angle to allow opti removal clearance. Shoebox's site I think has the pics for the position if you don't already have it.

good luck,
Brett

Put it in a higher gear like 4th or higher...that should keep it from turning at all.

Hope that helps

3 claw puller and it will come off extremely easy. Just go rent one at autozone and then return it. Costs ya nothing in the end. You shouldn't use a hammer to begin with.
