Help with tires

I am getting a set of 99 Vette wheels the have been powdercoated black. I am torn between the tires to put on them. I either want, Nitto's or BFG T/A KDW's, the new tread. The sizes I want are 255/40/17 and 285/35/18. The Nitto's come that way, but the BFG's will only come in 275/40/18. Tread wear and looks are my biggest concern when choosing. No other car down here has the BFG's so I am swayed towards them alittle. EVERYONE runs the Nitto's though. Help me decide, please.
I will get a set of ET street's for my salad shooters, for track duty.

You realize you're ride comfort will suffer quite a bit going to that big of a wheel right? It'll look good, but you'll also be slower because of those wheels...Those are both good tires...I've owned the BFG's and they were I loved those tires. I liked my bridgestones alot too...never had the nittos I may try them next...

Yeah I relized that. I only drive my car two days a week. Once I get back to my regular job it will be alot more. Did you have the new tread? How'd they wear? I dont think they will slow me down, too much. I run deep 8's in the 1/8th. When we go to the dyno next month, I will be looking for 305+. Beside, they will never see the track. I do not street race, so that's not a problem.
