Help with these two parts please..
Ok I did some searching and reading and I want to go ahead and buy some of the last parts I need before I can get my project together.
Three quick questions.
1) From what I understand I can use any 153tooth flexplate for a lt1/th400 combo. I have an internally balanced engine so im looking at this plate. If anyone sees any issues PLEASE let me know... http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
2) Do I use a stock starter with this....and what are the 168tooth flexplates for?
3) DAMPNERS! I need a new dampner and I was wondering if I can go with a GEN1 neutral balance damper? I see a few on summit that are SFI approved and half the price of the ATI dampners so I was hoping I could.
Please help me with these last few things...I am soooo close to completing my part list

Re: Help with these two parts please..
1) That flywheel won't work because it's for a 2piece rear main seal gen 1 SB
2) yes
3) while the Gen 1 damper "should " fit you will never be able to run a belt of anykind. If this car is strictly race only and you won't be running an alternator I guess it would be OK, but my opinion is you need to suck it up and buy the LT1 piece.

Re: Help with these two parts please..
Thanks for the advise...I don't know why I was thinking 2-piece rear main...
But I do need a 153 tooth internal balance 1piece rear flexplate right? That should work with a th400 / internal balanced LT1?
Thanks in advance...
ONE LAST QUESTION! - What is the stock hub / damper rated to in terms of RPMs?

Re: Help with these two parts please..
You need 153-tooth, internal balance, for one-piece main seal. I run a TH400, but its an external balanced engine, and used the B&M #20238 153-tooth flexplate. That has the counter balance weight on it, so its not the right one for you. But the 153-tooth worked with both the stock starter and an aftermarket CVR Pro-Torque starter.

Use a Goodyear Gaterback #4060610 with it.
Re: Help with these two parts please..
To my knowledge, the ASP LT1 integrated damper/pulley is not SFI-rated. Their LS1 pullies are, but not the LT1. Something to think about if you are planning to go fast enough on an NHRA track.
