Help temp up

I installed pacesetter lts on my 97 camaro, in doing so i bent the two prongs on the coolent sensor for the temp gauge. i unbent them and put everything back together. started my car up and the temp climbed to 230 in 5 min. Belt is on properly. coolent was replaced when the little fell out from finally taken the sensor out due to bending it. fans kick on. do you think the sensor is bad or what? Im confused and just want it fixed. thanks.

did you bleed the system? If not that could be the cause.

i don't know, i don't think the temp can climb that quick. I think you may have broken the sensor. My car take 5 min just to start warming up.

You can verify that the sensor is working properly if you have access to a multimeter: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#ect
