Well, don't drive the car AT ALL. You are going to want to flush the tank, which probably means removing it form the vehicle.

Then you are going to have to change the fuel filter and purge and flush the lines some how.

I'm sure this has happened before so hopefully someone has a good method for flushing the system.

How do you know that someone put sugar in your tank? Do you know how much got in?

Oh man, sorry to hear that! I think though that everyone should always invest in buying a $10 lock on the gastank from any auto store so that **** would never be able to happen.

I've heard of this before but never really knew much about it. What does sugar do to the gas/engine?

know it wont dissolve in gas, meaning you have hard little crystals going through your fuel, may scratch the engine or clog something.

Sugar ends up in the combustion chamber and proceeds to carmelize when the air-fuel mixture ignites. Not pretty.

Try holding a spoonful of sugar over an open flame and you'll see what will end up on your cylinder walls, valves, etc.

A locking gas cap. First thing I ever bought for the car.

As for the sugar.. I'd recommend having the car towed to a reputable shop and letting them professionally flush the entire fuel system.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you need a rebuild. I'm not sure if a flush would fix that (although I really hope it would for your sake). Like GreenZ28in503 said, it will carmelize in your engine. However, you have to be careful about the locking gas cap. Most aftermarket gas caps are vented, which is bad for our fuel system, because the OE cap is non-vented. You want to make sure that you have the non-vented kind, because I bought a vented one, and it was messing things up. I really hope you can quickly and cheaply get this fixed. Man if that happened to my car, there would be bodies found the morning after I found out who it was.

Sugar doesn't dissolve in gas. It won't likely get past the filter and to the combustion chambers. If it did dissolve and got into your engine, and if the results were what the popular belief is, don't you think you would have already hosed the engine after the way you drove the car?

To get the sugar out of the tank, you'll have to remove and clean it. Change the filter as well, since a clogged filter may be what's causing your new stumble at high rpm.

Just a thought for others to comment on too:

Once he cleans his fuel delivery system out,,, could he try sea foaming the engine extensivley to clean out the combustion chamber.

The miss may just be a fouled or carmelized plug.

I know if it were mine I would try sea foam or a combustion chamber cleaner and a throttle body cleaner than change the plugs and Oxygen sensors afterward. After all burnt sugar is carbon.

Also put sea foam in the gas tank and run a tank through, that may help clean any injectors that are affected.

If it still doesn't help and nothing else works than as a last resort rip the engine down.

Anyone have a comment to this???

Killer: Who's woman did you sleep with to have this type of action against you???

Thats what I'm thinking. You really need to find out who did it too. They deserve a serious beating.

Sugar does not dissolve in gasoline. Put some in a bit of your lawnmower gas and see what happens. What sugar is in your tank is sitting at the bottom in solid granular form. Even if it could pass through the filter, it will not harm the engine. Old myths die hard. Don't worry about it - just get the tank cleaned and replace the filter.
Only stupid people vandalize cars, and it turns out they are ones who believe that sugar can harm an engine, because they are......stupid.
