Help stuck in Lafayette... Freescan info!!!

Ok I was leaving my aunt and uncle's house to get back to Houston when my car died on me... I tried to restart it but with no luck... It trys to fire but just wont... So anyways I towed it over to my brothers house... I have the computer hooked up to it and all... Using Freescan I dont have any touble codes but I seem to remember it doing a system scan once a long time ago... Can anyone tell me how to get the freescan sofware to do a sytem scan??? If not is there any other software I can download that will???

Thank for any help in advance!!!

System scan? you mean logging a run? Freescan isn't going to help if the car won't start.

no, what I mean is test all the sensors for fault so I can pull a code without having to sit here trying to start the car untill it creates one itself...

Stored codes don't require the engine to be running to retrieve them.

Since you say you have spark, you might want to check fuel pressure with a test gauge.

That's a good point.. He said his pump was running which would make me think he'd have to be getting SOME kinda pressure letting the car at least TRY to sounds like it's going to turn over. Wouldn't you think rob?

I responded to the thread a minute before your email showed up in my email box.

It sucks to be away from your tools. Everyone should have a pressure tester, though. If by chance you think you might have flooded the engine, try cranking it with the gas pedal pushed to the floor.

i tried starting the car with th pedal to the floor a couple of times but with not luck... Although that is when it did try to start...

Question if by chance it was the opti the computer would have stored a code for sure right??? The reasone i ask is I have been having bad luck with opti's in the past two months... I have been threw five of them before i found the vacuum line to the back side of the opti plugged... Dont worry i havent bought five of them i get the eye from a friend of mine that works at mis. and normally the cap was all corroded so i would get a new on at AZ...

I heard by holding the pedal to the floor would cause the computer to lock the injectors or something that way the car won't start, in order to clear the engine out if it was indeed flooded...
