I don't know...for the price of the bolts and the work I would just buy a set of cap screw rods at that point.

I just called the machine shop back and they can replace the rod bolts in the OEM rod with a set of ARP's. The rod can and will have to be resized afterward.

What I don't understand is why the torque for the ARP bolt is the same as the the OEM bolt? I know the ARP bolt has a much higher tensile strength, but unless the ARP bolt is stiffer, you don't get any additional benefit of the ARP bolt using the same torque value. If during a failure of the OEM bolt you get bolt stretch that yields the bolt, then I understand...but wouldn't you want to prevent bolt stretch and thus bearing gapping in the first place?

I am currently rebuilding my LT1 and re-using stock rods, pistons and crank. I am using Hastings rings and ACL rod and main bearings.
