Unhappy Help with rear wheel studs

3 of my rear wheel studs broke. Is there any way to change them without removing the axles? Is the gear thing that is right behind the brake the abs or trac. control? Thanks for any help.

On my car i think i managed to replace them with out even taking the brakes or rotor off. I put the stud in hit them with a punch and when they were in almost all the way i just sucked them into place when i tightened the rim down.

I have beaten them out with a hammer but there is a gear type thing in the way. I think it is for the trac. control system. It doesn't look like there is a way around it.

Hmm, didnt pay attention to year of your car first of all. The traction control cars are 4 channel abs, so it prolly is a sensor right there. My car doesnt have that so im not sure how to get around it, sorry.

thanks anyways. Looks like I'll be dropping the axle. Glad I'm on vacation next week. First my beater truck dies earlier this week now this. At least the wheel didn't come off while I was driving.
