A friend on mine had problems like this, the RR turned and the values ate up the RR. the metal shavings got down in the pan a locked up the oil pump. As a result one new oil pan, oil pump, new rods, alot of bearings, and machine work.

Try switching it with another one.

If there isn't anything on the end of the rockers where the rollers are to keep them on the valve stem, are you sure you have SA rockers? If they don't have the "guides" on there, there is nothing to keep them aligned. Therefore why you're having problems. But 1318-16 is a self-aligning rocker, sure you have the right p/n?

All sa rockers have the dish or ridges on the tip, if they don't then there not self-aligning. Hence your problem.

See if that one looks different from the others. Maybe they stuck a NSA rocker in there. They all should have the guides on the tips if they are SA.

I helped joe with his install, and I know for a fact that the tip of the rockers do not have a recessed area for the valve. The are just the roller tip. they look like they need guideplates, the way the one slides off the valve.

thanks for the advice everybody, i pulled all the other RR's and looked at them and you guys were right SA's have the little ridges and NSA dont.

i have 1 NSA and 15 SA RR's, gee i wonder why it kept falling off. stupid comp cams sent me one wrong roller rocker out of a full box. im calling them this afternoon to get it straightened out. hopefully they are willing to cooperate.

thanks everybody
