HELP PLEASE!!!!!! water pump problem
HELP PLEASE!!!!!! water pump problem
i own a 95 formula
i let a friend drive my car today!!!!!!!!!! stupid me
anyway i called him after he had been gone a while and asked him how it was running to which he replied a little hot only about 260 degrees!!!!!!!!!!
he gets it back to me and the water is boiling in the radiator and the needle is well over 260 and now it is leaking water through the whole on the bottom on the water pump. what does this mean did he bust a gasket in side the water pump? do i need to replace the water pump or is this a simple fix?
thanks
robbie

Re: HELP PLEASE!!!!!! water pump problem
More then likely the water pump has gone bad. Spun it too hard, like I did on my 95' Formula, or it's just finally gone bad. The simple fix, which I don't think it is, you could take a look at the thermostat to see if it was bad or not as well. Either of those is what it sounds like to me.
Re: HELP PLEASE!!!!!! water pump problem
yeah it probaly the weep hole in the bottom leaking which is a sign of a faulty water pump. there a guy on ebay selling them for 59 bucks rebuilt 100% postive feedback.
Re: HELP PLEASE!!!!!! water pump problem
Yup, dead WP. It's probably not his fault, it happens alot.
It's an easy replacement, just keep the coolant off the Optispark (distributor)
I suggest using an EWP (+10rwhp), but you can replace it with another stock unit if you prefer.
