help...my new car wont start
hey guys,
i just bought a 95z and i cant get my car to start.... the security light is flashing....i tried to measure the resistence in the keys and i got different number on each key and even more different numbers when radio shack tested them
mine: 7.25 and 7.40 radio s : 7.33 and 7.44
i cant even find a good catagory for the value on shoebox's site.

hey Adam
were you using a auto ranging meter to measure the resistance?
if it was, there was probably a K down in the corner, and that would make the readings you posted 7250 and 7400 ohms, and 7330 and 7440 ohms, which would put it in the 7200-7820 ohm range of the #13 pellet

put the key in, go under the dash, disconnect the VATS wire and measure the resistance there(column side), it should read the same as the key, if it displays OL(out of limit) or it just keeps blinking it is open and you need a lock cylinder(or a resistor in the mating connector)

Re: help...my new car wont start
Just simply put your key in turn it on, and the security light should stop blinking after 30 seconds, then try to start it. I have a 94 with the same security on it and when it starts flashin i just wait for it to go off and then it will start. If not that than i dont know.
