HELP!!!- My car won't start!!
My battery is fully charged but when I tried to start it in just made a singular "click" noise. Once in a while when I would start the car in the morning it would do the same thing but after another two attempts at starting it would usually start and have no other problems that day.
Today I tried to start and tired at least another 6 times to start until now it wont even make the "click" noise.
Did my starter die or what?
My Z28 is a 1994 with 97,000 miles on it.
thanks in advance :-D

Mine did the same thing. I took it out and tested it, but it was fine. Then when I put it in it worked again. Try bangng on it light with a pipe as someone tried to start the car. And trace the wiring too, see if any of the wires ar loose or corroded.
On the passenger side. Jack the car up, and look where the exhaust pipe goes up. It connects at the front of the tranny. You will see it, it has the big starter part, about 8" long, then the little solenoid mounted on it. Check shoebox's site, he has a picture of where it is. Let me know if I can help.
I'd make sure it isn't your battery first. If it won't start, get a friends battery and try his/hers or try a jump start.
Do you notice corrosion around your battery terminals? Are your connections tight? Check and see if you have acid leaking out of your posts. ALSO, look at the battery. If the sides are bulging out, it is the battery. It could go bad on you. Three years or so is about the average battery lifespan.
If you find the starter, you can take your starter off and bring it to AutoZone and it can be tested there. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you try to take the starter off.
Goodluck.

The starter and solenoid are generally sold as a unit. Some people have been able to find places that would sell them a solenoid, though (like repair shops). Most auto stores don't list the solenoid as available separately.
