Help! MY Car doesn't start

I have a 97 formula M6 with 85,000 miles. It seems that if I wait more than a couple of hours or so and start my car it won't start right a way. It acts just like it would if I didn't put the clutch down. If I try enough times it starts so its not like it never starts it just takes a long time. It seems to start fine if I turn the car off and then start it again within a couple of minutes. What could this be? Thanks

so does the motor turn over, or does it just do nothing?

if it does nothing then check to see if your security light comes on.. if the security light DOESN'T come on then it's more than likely your ignition switch... also check to make sure all your battery connections are on nice and tight as well...

No the engine doesn't turn over, it does nothing. As for the security light I believe it turns on, Everything turns even my Daylight Running Lamps.

ok then if the securtiy light come's on and STAYS on, then you need to clean your key.. the lil metal resistor thing on your key. go clean it with some alchol really good. then wash it off with some water and be sure to DRY it off and you should be good to go
