HELP!!! My battery keeps discharging!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok. So i had an oil leak and fixed it. Then the starter went out so i replaced it as well. THEN the car would just barely turn over as if the battery was dead, so i replaced the battery. After this i looked at the alternator and it was all fugged up so i replaced it as well (thank god it was under warranty). SOO after all this at first the car started fine with no probs but then i went and drove around about 2 or 3 miles, got home went inside and came back out and it was doing the exact same stuff as before, barely turning over and then stopping as if the battery was dead. Well all i can figure is that something is constantly draining power while the car is off cause the battery to **** up. Anyone have any clue what would cause this?

It could be your starter. I cant really explain it but some dont have enough power. Is it new or rebuilt? If it has warranty take it back and try another one.

As he mentioned the starter may have windings that are now shorted together. This causes it to draw much more current than usual. You need to do 2 things. Measure the voltage before engaging the starter across the battery and while the starter is engaged. it should not fall below 10.5 volts when cranking. You also need to check the current going to the starter while it's cranking. It should be around 70 amps. If it's over 100 the starter is bad.

good luck

Cool

When my battery was constantly drawing down it turned out to be the retained power accessory feature on stock am fm cassette player. Clock was still on after car was shut down and doors opened and closed. Didn't notice the clock was still illuminated; and if I did, probably woulda figured that was supposed to be. It drove me nuts until i was forced to bring it in to dealer under used car warranty. Radio replacement fixed the problem. Something as simple as that!
