Help me warm up my 94 Z-28

I have a stock 94 Z-28 convertable with auto transmission. It has a speed limiter at about 106 mph. I would like to make this car fun to drive and surprize the wife who drives a 96 corvette with a LT-4 engine with a 6 speed. Would appreciate input from someone who can give me a good shopping list of things to do.....to make this thing bark. Any information is appreciated, Dennis

Buy a new car!

No, seriously, consider the basics first. Bolt on mods, then goto the bigger stuff. Get your basics situated, make sure it's all "****" to begin with. IE, meaning your brakes are good, your engine runs right, transmission is good, NO LEAKS ANYWHERE!

Go for:
Catback, (Hooker)
Headers, (MAC if you have to pass smog, Jet Hot's if you don't need to)
Intake (K&N FIPK)
LT4KM (Knock Module)

Also consider your tires, now those bolt on's will not get you the performance of an LT4 Vette, however, its a start.

After you get that done, consider a heads and cam combination. An XE grind would be well suited, the 224/230 is conservative for me, good idle, but more power can be had with a large cam.

Just some thoughts to steer you in the right direction, I've been there and done that.

Could you elaborate more on the cam and heads combination...what heads are available out there. last time I worked on a small block was back in the 375 fueler days.

I second Lloyd, he has a great service going. I "wasted" my $900 with some local speed shop who merely cleaned up my heads.

I agree on Lloyd. I got the LE2 package from him. Installed it on my 355ci LT1 Impala SS (heads only for now) and with a CC503 cam I picked up .8 tenths of a second and 7 MPH in the 1/4. And the heads I took off were ported Agistino LT1 iron heads that had higher flow numbers and bigger valves than the LE2's. Lloyd rocks.
