Help me pick a good lifter! please post url's!
i have some excess noise with some ticking which i believe to be the lifters... i called a shop and was going to order comp R's untill they told me 3 motors came back blown because of a lifter coming apart...3 of them!!!! i guess Comp wouldn't do anything about it. This has scared me some because i was planning on going w/ Comp R's. Does anyone know of a company that will stand behind their parts if something tragic was to happen? Like most of you I too have to much in my motor to just throw any old lifter or any part for that fact in. These will be going in the 383, so post url's I would like to get some bought ASAP.
Re: Help me pick a good lifter! please post url's!
I don't think any company is going to pay for new 383 if there lifter goes bad if that is what you are saying. But I know that people have had good luck with comp R's and if a shop had 3 cars where lifters came apart I would not use that shop. Just my .02

hey rich..you think oem lifters will be ok in a forged 383lt4? im not sure how big the cam is gonna be ..but somewhere along the lines of a gm847.ported heads/intake. and i dont plan on spinning the motor past 6700rpms..(its gonna have a 200 shot)
Re: Help me pick a good lifter! please post url's!
Comp changed the comp R design about 6 months ago to correct the problems they were having. The Rs are a superior lifter for anything with a lot of RPM or spring pressure
Re: Help me pick a good lifter! please post url's!
i guess i will stick w/ the comp R's. The whole idea of 3 motors going bad out of the same shop just made me rethink things before i spend a dime. I do plan on installing these myself, just didnt know if there were any known flaw's w/ the R's.
Thanks for your guy's input!

I am using the stockers, actually the original one's that came with my motor. I am on my second block, fifth cam, second set of heads, fourth set of valve springs, and so on, and they keep on (not) ticking!
