Arrow Help me pick between Flowmaster and Hooker.....

I can't decide between Flowmaster 80 series muffler and Hooker AeroChamber. The 80 Series says "noticable interior resonance" on the box, if you have a 80 series muffler, please let me know if that is true. Also, does the Hooker muffler do the same thing? I want my car to be a little louder, but I still want to be able to drive on the highway without all the interior resonance. Thanks.

i have an 80 series with no cat and it is loud. i have heard the hooker muffler is quiter and much, much better sounding. the resonance will not be that bad, mine is just loud because the cat is gone, go with the hooker, i am going to go with it in the future after i get rid of this flowcrapper.

The flowmaster 80 sounds awesome!!! I had one for sale (used ) with a special quad tips that will fit Camaro z28. Just replaced (today ) it with Random Technology cat back. The Flowmaster sounded much better that my new cat-back, but I needed a full 3" system (hot cam) so I had to replace it. If you are interested mail me at sebastianek23@hotmail.com
Thanks

Asking car people what sounds good on a car is like asking a chef what spices taste good on chicken...everyone has differeing opinions.

I like the way my flowmaster catback/cutout combo work. Sounds bad azz. Some people hate it, and this is me caring what other people think----->

Search for some sound clips, even though most of those don't do justice what it will really sound like.....

I liked the Flowmaster when I had it.
I may want it back once I start up the LTs and header mufflers true dual setup.
Its gonna be a little loud I think.

I've had both on my car, so take it from somebody who's listened to both on the same setup.

From the outside, both are great sounding exhausts. Flowmaster or Hooker - they both sound good. Flowmaster has more grunt, roar, pop, and bass. Hooker has a nice smooth purr at idle/cruise and a loud pissed off scream at WOT.

However, when talking about interior resonance, the hookre wins hands down. When I'm in my car driving, the hooker catback makes my car seem like it has a stock exhaust. Until I roll the window down or hammer the gas. With the flowbastards, I had to almost yell to talk to my passenger sitting shotgun on the highway.

Yes, what they say about interior resonance is true. It got even worse after I gutted the stock cat.

My car had a flowmaster when bought it, it didn't sound to bad, but didn't do anything for performance. I ditched it for a hooker and I love the sound, and also noticed a gain over the flowmaster. The hooker can be loud, you just have to get on it...that is what i like.

Another Hooker vote here.
