Help Me Get This Baby Roarin'!
Howdy
well after sorting the cooling system, headers and (at least I think) the wiring, I went to start up my LT1 converted Landcruiser this afternoon. I turned the key and the engine turns over nicely, but no hint of starting (ie no stumble). Went through and im pretty certain everything's hooked up right, got spark from the coil, got spark at the plugs, dizzy leads are all going to the right cylinders, all injector leads are going to right injectors. I cant measure the fuel pressure but I pressed down on the tester valve while the pump was on and gas cam spurting out. I think the injectors are firing but not positive, when I removed a couple of different plugs Im pretty sure I could smell gas on them but wasnt sure, there is voltage to them with the key to start anyway. Im running an external fuel pump independent of the PCM wired to hot while on, there is no one way valve though so fuel pressure is lost when the key is turned off...
I pruned up my loom and deleted a bunch of stuff (ie. AC/AIR/EGR/transmission stuffetc) out of it, I got a guy to delete EGR AIR and VATS outa the PCM, and Im running speed density (MAP) only. Engine is out of a 95' auto F-body, wasnt sure what to do with the brake signal switch or the park neutral position switch (the latter is hot at on) so these remain under the dash at the mo.
Any ideas where to troublehoot? How do I test whether the injectors are firing? Thanks in advance guys, this project has been going over a year now and I REALLY wanna fire her up!

Re: Help Me Get This Baby Roarin'!
Update...I poured a little gas into the intake manifold and she stumbled and cranked up for a couple of seconds then died. So the ignition system is workn, and so something is wrong with the injector firing...or order of...or gas getting to them......
Re: Help Me Get This Baby Roarin'!
The injectors could be stuck. i installed a LT1 out of a salvage yard, and the engine had been sitting up for a year or more, same symptoms.tried everything, finally got a long bar and placed against the intake right next to each injector.Rap it sharply with a hammer a few times. The shock will unstick the injector. This happens when they have been sitting up dry for a while.
i know it may sound wierd, but it is worth a shot!

Gday hotrod blazer, yeah pulled the injectors still on the rail and tested each one and each sprays beautifully. So there is no signal getting to ANY of the injectors...
