Help me find a shelf piston (4.030 with 1.150" CH)

SRP discontinued making the one piston I need for a customer's 408 stroker.
I cannot find a 1.150" compression height 4.030" piston anywhere else by any other manufacture.
The piston that was discontinued is SRP # 144994 (inverted dome -16cc).
link to the srp page showing that piston

I've looked at ROSS, Mahle, Probe, Diamond, JE,
Anyone have an unsold set on the shelf collecting dust?

A lead to some manufacture that I'm not thinking of that has a piston like that?

Thanks in advance for pointing me to a piston similar to that.

You check Wiseco? They have a lot of stuff.

Edit: I just checked and they got nothing.

Thanks for the check on that though. I also checked Wiseco a few min. ago and found nothing.

It's not the end of the world but it's a bummer SRP ditched that piston without telling me or my supplier and had me strung along for 2 months waiting for it. That's all I'm really bummed about.

I could have had a ROSS custom by now. !!

Ross 90416 and 90426 have 1.143 CH. Hell, it's only 7 thou difference.

Nevermind, those are flat tops. I just went back and saw you were using a big dish.

KB has a forged 1.130 13 or 18cc dish. I know not great but is something. The 13cc dish I would think would result in similar compression as the original piston you were looking at given the same deck height, just would be well below deck, again not great but something.

Is it too late to consider other rod options? That might open up possibilities piston wise.

A different rod would make all the difference in the world.

I very much appreciate all the responses and ideas guys. Yes I checked CP pistons and they don't make an inverted dome shelf piston. No problem.

We decided to go with a ROSS custom piston. Instead of buying new rods and pistons and balance we figured we would wait on the customs. This motor has an Eagle 4.000" stroke crank and Lunati Pro-Mod rods (5.850) and the SRP pistons mentioned above. Only thing broken are the pistons, (skirts shrunk due to detonation).
Initially we figured $550 bucks for new SRP pistons (then bearings, rings, block work and back on the road.)

Now it will be Ross Custom (and I ordered 1.156 compression height for a proud piston) and about a 2 month wait, (which was about how long we waited for the SRP pistons and finally found out they do not exist). Right now I hate JE/SRP and will stay away from them if at all possible!

This motor will be getting the 1st evah Ai GMLT4 CNC heads.

add/edit: Thanks for the suggestion Dwayne, those KB795's are hollow dome pistons, (pop-up). Summit is backward on how they list the piston head volume. The KB734 is a step dish.

Something to be said for putting forth the effort to really get it right rather than just getting it done.

I am sure a 4 month wait was never intended but in the end it will be done right.

Summit's search narrowing is a bit flakey, I had clicked the dish with valve reliefs option, never noticed the "dome" in the details list. No matter, I do not hear good things about KB anyway, apparently those who really check find them to not be consistently round as they should be.

This should be interesting. I have their competition ported LT4's.

Good luck, Karl.
