Does the AC compressor use any fluid?
Does the AC compressor use any fluid?
I see fluid that looks very similar to power steering fluid around the ac compressor and coating the bottom of the pulley's and some hoses. However, I got to the power steering pump last night and really didn't see any leaks.
Is there any fluid that looks very similar to power steering fluid that is housed in the ac compressor? Also, is it common for the clutch to be very hard to turn by hand and randomly click on and off when the engine is running (If I look at the clutch I'll see it start turning for a second then stop while the engine is idling).

If the oil was leaking, wouldn't that mean that the refrigerant would have leaked out too? If I have the ac on it still blows cold air. Is there a logical explanation as to why the oil would leak but the refrigerant would not escape and still cycle?
