I am trying to help my son out with his 95 Procharged TA. My experience is with LS1s, so please bear with me:

The top of the engine really don't look good at all. I have seen a couple of LT1 Impala SS cars that really look nice with the Corvette LT1 fuel rail covers. Could someone give me a little info on installing them on the 95 TA. Are they very expensive? I don't even know where to buy them for the LT1.

Also, the car has Traction Control. There is a large unsightly looking black plastic box above the drivers side of the engine. Can this system, along with this box be removed without much problem? Again, we are just wanting to clean this engine compartment up some.

One last thing. It looks like removing the A.I.R. system (with all it's hoses) would clean up the engine compartment good too. With the LS1, it's easy. I am not worried about it throwing any PCM codes, as long as it don't effect performance. Any problems removing this on the LT1?

I believe the car is OBD2 since it has a 16 pin ALDL connector. I was told some 95s are OBD1 and some OBD2.

I can give a couple of answers. The AIR can be removed without too much worry. Just be sure to plug the exhaust manifolds. After removing the pump, be sure to leave a good fuse in the fuse panel and you won't throw any codes from that. On rare occasion, a 1995 pcm will complain about not seeing the AIR function (by way of monitoring the O2 sensors).

All 1995s are OBD-I. The DLC is a hybrid that is the shape of the OBD-II ones.

I don't know from experience, but it seems the traction control could be removed without too much trouble. You would need to get a non TCS accelerator cable. Don't know if the pcm will complain about it not being there.

One other thing maybe someone could help me with. The 95 TA has cheap black painted stamped steel valve covers. I have seen newer LT1s with a nice looking gray color cast valve cover (maybe Corvette). Are these Corvette? Will these covers fit a 95? Wonder if a set could be bought on Ebay?

Anyone know of a good quality chrome LS1 valve cover?
