Help! Keep the cc304 or install a cc305
Help! Keep the cc304 or install a cc305
I am going to do a basic tune of my car to help find/cure some issues. The basic tune up will include O2s, PVC, plugs, wires, coil and if that does not work I am going to replace the opti with a new one. My question is should I do a cam swap while/if I do a opti. I am fully capable and figure that the front of the motor is already apart, so it is a start, why not slap a bigger cam in there while I am at it. The current cam (cc304) has ran many 13.2,13.3,13.4 and usally trap around 105-106, with a couple 108's and a single 109. The cc304 is on stock the tune/heads the cc305 will be on a mail-order (pcmforless)/stock heads. IS it worth the time, money, and what kind of gain can I expect.
For those not too familiar with the specs:
cc304: 210 / 220, .500 / .510 114 LSA
cc305: 220 / 230, .510 / .510 114 LSA
Thanks
For those not too familiar with the specs:
cc304: 210 / 220, .500 / .510 114 LSA
cc305: 220 / 230, .510 / .510 114 LSA
Thanks
I think the gain would be noticeable. My car has gone 8.29 with the cc305 and long tubes. I do have 3.73 gears and a 2400 stall though. that may help a bit. I feel that on a good cool day(within the next few months or so) the car will go 8.0s or 8.1s. I think you will like the new cam and tuning though. should definitely put you into the 12s and low low 8s. Good luck with whatever you decide and feel free to email me with any questions.
