Help I think My OPti has crapped
Help I think My OPti has crapped
Well I had a miss fire so I replaced the cap and rotor on the opti. It turned out to be a broken valve spring. Well it ran well once I fixed the spring but one of my bleader screws was leaking and I think it might have soaked the opti. I have a miss fire around 2800k the only thing is that it has no ryme or reason to it. It comes and goes as it wants. It feels like there is no power there sometimes the it will run fine. Does this sound like the cap and rotor or the optical part? The reason I ask is that I am planning to go with the LTCC or Delteq system in the future. Or could it be the plugs and wires? Any sugestions will be appreciated.
Usually a mid rpm miss, like around 3k is a coil. Try swapping that out and get to us
Poke around the engine in a dark place, or at night, and see if you see "lights" or your wires grounding out anywhere. If they are "lluminating" you found your problem. But then again, wires are usually a low rpm thing, like idle to 2K, or atleast according to the info i have heard/experienced myself.

I would suspect something else. You'd know if it's the opti, it gets so bad you think the engine is about to break loose of it's mounts when you start it up. Quite nerveracking.
Although loosing coolant on your opti isn't very good for it, generally the vented optis can take a little moisture and not get too upset over it. I spilled coolant on mine a couple of times and it still runs perfect, from a 2k rpm tire smoking launch all the way up to 6k.

I forgot to tell you guys it pulls great under full throttle it misses when going up a hill or when passing a car. So it does it when under load like that.
I am lost that is why I was thinking of the other options to fix it. WHat about plugg gap what should it be at I have it at .045
