Question Help I am idling at 1200rpms

I turn my car on after it has been sitting a while and it won't go below 1200 rpms. WTF.

How cold is it out? It could be that your PCM senses its really cold outside so it starts it at a higher RPM.

Its in the 70's and extremely humid. IT just started doing this after my tranny went down the hole now my tranny is rebuilt but it is still acting the same as when it broke.

Could be a vacuum leak. Do you have a scan tool. If your car is fully warmed up, and the IAC count is 0. The throttle body blades are mostly shut, and the IAC is closed. So its getting enough air to idle somewhere else.

Yes, I second that.. I would say a bad/sticky Idle air control valve or a vacuum leak.

Was the pcm recently reset? Does it not go down even if you let it idle for a few minutes? What year is your car? Throttle body is a stock one?

I have a 94 camaro with a 58mm tb.

And no it does not go down I let it idle the whole time I was adding fluid and the lowest it got was 1250rpms.
