help finishing my stroker

hey everyone its been a while since I've been on here,(the army is a real mother) but my time should be over shortly and I want to finish my '93 z 383 project.

I've had alot of problems getting this thing put together but I'm almost done and can now focus time towards it. after putting in the comp 1.6rr the stock valve covers wont clear and the aftermarket ones wont clear the alt. got the relocation kit if needed, and about to order the 58mm TB and 42lb/hr injectors to finish up the parts im missing. should I get a in-line or in tank feul pump? block off plates for the back of the intake? any advice/ideas on the tuning? basically any experience that would make this install go smooth will be GREATLY appreciated. its been too long. Thanks in advance.

Good questions, easily answerable by the experts on LT1 Based Engine Tech...... not really an "Advance Tech" topic.

I'll move the post for you......

Don't know much about what to do but I have heard in-tank pump is the way to go (using the trap door method).

Do you mean EGR block off? Search under that for more info. If you just want to make sure the intake doesn't leak there is a way to dimple it (I don't know how so do a search). Also, use The Right Stuff gasket sealer. Get a spray bottle so you don't have to mess with squeezing the tube while applying. It sealed mine so well now the oils coming out the from water pump's seal :/

If there's nobody in your area for tuning then a mail order guy knows his stuff and will give you something to start with. Then, send him a printout on how it's running (need a laptop and tuner cat I think) and he'll adjust it. www.PCMForLess.com Even Mario Andretti went to him for a tune!

I definitely recommend an intank pump. They run really well and they're quiet. Go with a 255 lph pump and you'll be good. If you can run block-off plates go for it. It's only the air sys and egr and you can have the tuner, tune it out.

Good luck
