Heres the deal. I recently rebuilt my 95 LT1 bottom end back to stock after spinning a bearing. I did this myself and have experiance as i do all my own mechanical work. But im stumped. I rebuilt the motor with Lloyds LE1 heads and a 230-236 cam. The crank was turned on the bottom of the spec for clearence. Full roller rockers (1.5), pushrods and crane lifters. Have full bolt ons from intake to exhaust and ignition. 30# injectors stock throttle body. New walbro 255, complete opti and all the ignition parts to go with it. Its and A4 with 3.42's and a small stall. about 2200rpm The car is only trapping 102mphwith a 3520 race weight! this thing should be movin a little faster than that. The DA is about 5000 feet here on average so thats some of it but not all. I also have the pcm tuned by Ion. The car runs good part throttle with the exception its a little rich from what i can tell with datamaster. The car deffinetly pulls differently then it did but it seems like its down on power. Any ideas what i should be checking or causes. This is getting pretty irritating. thanks all

 

Yes, 102 MPH with that set-up is weak...Most A4's w/ basic bolt-ons trap that easily, so something is definitely not right...Need more info though...

Did you have it tuned correctly on the dyno by a good shop? I know you said the PCM was tuned by Madwolf, but was that before or after you did all of this?

How does it currently run overall (under all driving conditions)? Any noticeable problems besides running a little rich?

Ever had it scanned since you did this rebuild? Might want to see if it is throwing any codes and then go from there as it wouldn't be smart to just guess what it might be...

So you're losing power up top and not down low?

Without knowing how exactly it runs, if it's throwing any codes, or ever been tuned properly for its set-up, it's hard to say...I don't want to just guess like I already mentioned...

It hasnt been on a dyno yet. i was wanting to get it running decent before i take a 250 mile trip to the closest dyno. the tune was done after the mods, Ion is helping me out right now with the tune, i use datamaster to log with and i am learning tunercat, so no codes. The car seems to run pretty good normal driving, and it does pull up top it just seems to not have the power it should and by the numbers its putting out it doesnt. I just killed the waterpump so im going to have a couple of days of downtime, but all advice is appreciated. thanks

 

Did you degree the cam?
