HELP! The engine won't run!!!
Hello!
I have a ’96 LT1.
I’ve had a problem earlier with it – the engine won’t start. There was no signal on injectors and no spark from coil. I thought I’d try to program it with Hypertech Power Programmer III and it helped. Right now I’m totally finished with putting my car together. I installed new plugs, plug wires, aluminum fly wheel, clutch, and Pace Setter long tube headers. Yesterday, the car was running just fine until I turned it off, and tried to start it again for last time in the evening. It started making loud “boom” noises from the exhaust and the engine was sounding like it had a detonation. Then, I turned off the car and was thinking that this was happening because the car was lifted at the back (by a jack) and since the fuel tank was tilted, maybe the fuel pump was taking in air. So, in the morning, I lowered the car back down and tried to start the engine again to no avail. The engine rotates but it doesn’t start and I checked the injectors and sparks, but like the other time, there was no signal or sparks. I tried to program it back to stock with the Programmer, and it did start but very poorly and only two cylinders worked. Then, the car died and there was, again, no signal or anything. So, I checked the fuel pressure. It was perfectly fine. So, what do you guys think it could be?
Thanks, I appreciate your help!

Re: HELP! The engine won't run!!!
Have a friend with an OBD11 pcm loan it to you for a minute to see if you boogered the ecm when messing with the Hypercrap. Or you might go to a bone yard and pick up a used one on the cheap---I picked up an extra one and had it programmed, while I keep my stocker as a spare (just good insurance). If you're not getting any spark you need to go back throuhg the system including the coil to see where the problem is--could be opti--but if it is the pcm, checking it out with another PCM seems the most sensible way to begin the process of elimination.
I would recommend getting rid of the programmer anyway and have a one of the gurus on the board program your pcm. JMHO
