well i just got a 93 trans am so its either got 2.73's or 3.23's. its stock other than a k&n filter..thats it. My friends ls1 trans am has 2.73's. It also has an airlid and different muffler. Both cars are automatic. I raced him from a roll at 25 mph and jumped half a car on him then he started to catch back up. We were even til about 80 and he did a very slow walk on me (about a car length). Generally ls1's should do better than that so thats why I was kinda thinkin I might have 3.23's?

 

Cars with 3.23's have 1-2-D-OD-N-R-P on the shifter. Cars with 2.73's have 2-D-OD-N-R-P they don't have the 1.

 

My guess it would be 3.23's then too. The LS1's with 2.73's really seem to be a dog out of the hole. I killed my buddy's 99 TA w/ 2.73's with my Z, its an M6 w/3.42's, all night long, he had a lid, LM and HPP tune.. Then he put an M6 rear in it and flattened me Now I'm in the middle of putting 4.11's in and he dont know.. hehehehe shhhhh!

EDIT: Look at your RPO codes, probably in your glove box for GU2 = 2.73's or GU5 = 3.23's

 

Hopefully your car is just a freak and you've got 2.73s.

But you've probably got 3.23s if your car did that well.

I was just thinking if you had 2.73s and you threw 3.73s in there it would make your car a monster...

 

well thanks guys. I just looked in the glove box and saw GU5 . I have an automatic with 3.23's. I'm still trying to learn how to launch it good so what do you guys suggest would make a good launch?
