Exclamation Help with Crank sprocket.

When I try to put it on it goes on to a certian point with just tapping it, but it doesnt quite reach the machined lip on the crank. Do I have to hit it hard? Plus it looks like there is no way that the woodruff key will show itself through the front of the crank sprocket. What am I missing here?

Forgot to mention this is the GM extreme duty timing set, not the stock one.
