Help with cooling problems

A few days ago I noticed my car was getting hot. I started having to fill my car with coolant every few days b/c the light for low coolant was coming on. I took the car to my Dad's shop and took out the radiator and noticed some small cracks right below the place where you add coolant. I got some 5 minute epoxy and it seems to be holding up. The car still is running hotter than it used to though. I checked for leaks and have none. I am wondering if maybe the fans aren't coming on and thats why the radiator cracked, even though the car never got in or near the red. I am wondering how i figure out if my fans are working? I can't see them and my car is so damn loud I can't hear them running. I was thinking that i should try changing my coolant temp sensor in the water pump? Feedback is appreciated .......-> Brad

Well I guess I'll go buy a new coolant temp sensor and see if that does anything. Its $7.99 at Austozone so if thats not it, I don't mind. ------------> Brad

Did you bleed off the air after putting the radiator back in?

Yes and I actually just came inside from changing out my coolant temp sensor that goes to the PCM, which I believe turns the fans on. The car is idleing now and I'm keeping an eye on the temp. -------------> Brad

Ok this is what I observed in my garage after installing the new coolant temp. sensor.

I started the car and let it idle. The temp rose all the way up to between the 3rd and the 4th mark and stayed there. Then I turned my A/C on and the guage went down to a little below the half mark.

Oh and my guage is as follows: 160 is the lowest mark and 260 is the highest. There are 5 dashes total 160 being the 1st and 260 being the 5th. So there are three dashes between 160 and 260. Hope that makes sense.

Does this mean my fans are not coming on? ---------->Brad

What temp. does that make it?

That may be because your fan(s) are coming on or going into high speed for the A/C...
