help car wont start
help car wont start
car shut off pulling out of my drive way pushed it back to the guarge and ran for codes it had a bad crank sensor code replaced sensor with a used one i had in the guarge didnt starts put on a new one from napa still wont start and i cleared the codes on the computor the fuel pump primes up and ideas itwas a new opti when i just rebuikt the motor
The crank sensor won't keep it from starting.... its only there for misfire detection.
Why not provide detailed info on your car, using the "signature" feature - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That way, people won't have to ask questions about the car before they can help you. When someone does ask a question, its generally a good idea to respond so they can help you. Is it a manual or auto trans?
Post the specific codes you are getting.
When you replaced the Opti, did you loc-tight the rotor screws before installing it? Do you have spark? Have you checked the fuel pressure?

The pink wire always has 12V when the key is in the "on" position. The PCM supplies a ground to fire the injector.
You can check for the injectors getting a ground with a "noid" light, a cheap device that plugs in between the harness and injector and flashes when the injector get the ground to fire.
Have you rechecked it for codes? The code for the low resolution pulse from the Opti will shut down the fuel system. You'll get a few pulses of the injectors when you try and start it, but after the engine turns two rev's with no low res pulse detected, the PCM shuts down the pump and injectors. But if you don't have the code, its not the optical cam position sensor in the Opti.
You might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car... year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That provides people with the info they may need to help you. Not all years are the same in all respects.
