HELP!!!!!!!!!! car won't start
HELP!!!!!!!!!! car won't start
i just pulled a 355 turbo motor out of 97 trans am with an auto and put it in my 95 trans am with a 6-spd
after i hooked everything up it would not start
it did not have any fuel pressure so i ran my own wires to the pump and got it working but now the spark plugs arn't sparking
what would make the fuel pump not work and keep the plugs from geting power?
thanks
robbie

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!! car won't start
You're running into complicatoins with the computer and pressure sensors.
If the rail pressure isn't sufficient, the computer wont signal the ignition system to fire.
You could probably get most of your info from the LT1 section using search.

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!! car won't start
The ECM has no idea what fuel pressure is nor does it care. There isnt any pressure sensor on the car.
For whatever reason, your ECM isnt putting out a fuel pump prime signal nor a spark signal. I would start checking to make sure you got all the grounds back in place. My first thoughts would be to start with all the stuff on the drivers side head and coil/ICM.
Do you have a data logger? See if you can get ECM communications with it with key on.

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!! car won't start
Ditto... there is no fuel pressure sensor on an LT1.
Check the Opti harness. If the PCM does not see the low res pulse from the Opti, it shuts down the fuel system, including the pump and injectors. That would also explain the absence of spark.

i checked the opti and noticed i missed the two vaccumn lines on the drivers side of the opti but still no go
