I went out to start the car this morning, and it just kept turning over. gave her a tiny bit of gas and it started fine. let go of the gas, and it chugs along at 3-400rpm for a sec then dies. the car still runs absolutely perfectly, just have to keep my foot barely resting against the pedal. is it a loose throttle cable or is there some way to turn up the idle or something? ideas will be appreciated. thanks

 

Your iac could be stuck.

 

youve got a vacum leak somewhere! check all your hoses on the intake! check the power brake booster hose etc

 

well, i adjusted the screw that holds the throttle lever thing out so it stays at about 5-600rpm. if it starts to drop again i'll know somethings wrong. thanks for the suggestions
