Unhappy HELP! Car will not start!

My car has been sitting idle since the snow started falling in December. I started it up a few weeks ago and let it run for a while, everything went fine. I went out last week to start her up again, and the battery was dead (left a light on). I re-charged the battery (AC Delco), put it back in, tried to start her up and she just cranks and cranks, no fire. What gives?

It has been really cold here the past couple weeks (average in the 20's), my tank is full, but could my fuel lines still be iced over? I don't know what could have gone wrong with it just sitting there.

Start with the basics. Check spark and fuel pressure.

I just tried starting it with a little bit of starting fluid. No go.

Guess that rules out the fuel issue. AS far as the coil and Opti, the coil is 3 or 4 years old and the Opti is brand new. I put it on last spring when I did my Hotcam install. It probably has less than 1K on the new Opti. Can a coil just spontaneously crap out of you?

that doesn;t always mean that the fuel system is ok. a pressure test is the only real way to know anything constructive. if you like there are different tests to run including fuel pressure here.

Ok....maybe it doesn't prove that the fuel system is ok, but it definately proves I'm not getting any spark.

err.. not really. you could be getting spark and too much fuel. you never know. thats why teh best way to start is always spark at teh coil and fuel pressure test and leakdown check. real easy to do and takes a huge chuck out of figureing out whats wrong

have a freind hold the end of the coil wire, and you crank the engine, if they yell and drop the wire than there is spark
