help car quit yesterday

Drove my car yesterday for the first time after opti replacement. Drove car bout 5 mile and it died. I restarted and then stopped to get gas. Went to start again and it would run then quit. I did get it to run awhile but everything was cycling like it was loosing power and regaining power. Checked batt and alt connections. I believe it is PCM or possibly a ground prob havent checked that. The cycling is not random but even period between each cycle. Thanks.

Did you make sure that the opti was 100 % flush up against the block? And are you throwing any codes?

I really think it has nothing to do with the opti pointing more towards the PCM or a ground because off the relays cycling constantly. Going to see if Datamaster will communicate tomorrow.

Put car on scanner today with datamaster, just logged with key in run position but not running and it said bad checksum, checked the edit file I loaded and the checksum was good.

imo recheck that you installed the opti right. if the problem just started after changing the opti its most likely the opti

Well it ended up being the opti in a way. Its the opti harness. Wiggeled the harness around and it started.

So Rob, is the car good to go now?? Have you driven it since then?

Oh, I took the Z and had the exhaust leak fixed. Charge up your laptop so we can get a full scan on this thing Let me know when you can do it. Chris mentioned hooking up a factory computer to see how it runs on stock programming, what do you think...........shoot me an email.

Joe.
