just got everything back together after my cam install, but my car wont start. we already ruled out the battery, starter, and rockers(too tight), but my friends and i are stumped. car wants to turn on but just keeps turning over. we noticed that when we crank it there is a backfire through the intake, so we checked all the wires and they were all in the right place. need some help guys cuz im about to shoot my self and sell the damn car! seriously though im really fed up with this car. thanks in advance for any help

 

So how did you rule out the battery and starter? Also, check things like your coil wire and all vaccum lines over and over again... is there an SES light? and when you say it backfires in the intake... I have no clue what would cause that other than your timing set being off a tooth... but it would still start if that were the problem. Only thing I can think of is if it is off 180degrees it might do what you are talking about... did you line the dots up on the timing set?

 

i replaced them within 30 minutes of each other because we thought that's why it wouldnt start. i didnt put the timing set back on so i dont know how far off it is. are there any other things you guys can think of?
