HELP broken oil sending unit

HELP broken oil sending unit

Well to make long story short. Changed plug wires hand slipped broke off oil sender next to filter how can i get the rest of it out of the housing? and where can i get this sensor?

out of what housing??? Or are you talking about the oil pan? You can buy a sender at any parts store. I don't know what your talking about the housing thing though. Cracked the end of mine of once into the oil pan. Just left it. Maybe thats why I blew my motor.

maybe your car is different from mine but mine is in my oil pan not by the oil filter housing. hmmmmmmmmm. didn't know that, what year is your car?

94 it sticks out from the filter housing it is what runs the guage

thats on 93s

i was soo sure of it too

u sure u dont own a 93 man? :P

just screw it out, and put the new one in..

ure lucky u dont have a newer year, for them u gotta farking god knows what to take it out

mines not working, and i cant take it out (its at the back of the itnake which i cant get a grip to turn it, and no socket will fit (even the oil pres unit sockets, cuz they're too short)

He can't screw it out, he broke it off. You might be able to get it out with an easy out. You might also try a flat head screwdriver. Try gently tapping a flathead into the broken fitting. Hope this helps.

thanks yeah it is broken around the plastic i can feel a little diaphram feeling thingy in there but thats it

the very front part is metal, can u take it out from there?

no its broken all the way in the housing....does anyone have a pic of this thing the local parts house here in germany has one but it is 3 plug i only seen one wire coming out of the damn thing...BTW i havnt pulled it out of that sleeve yet so i really dont know what it looks like(havnt had time yet)

I broke that thing during my header install. I had to get a special socket through gm.

If the metal hex collar is still on there, just grab it and screw the thing out of the block. The new ones you find may have 3 terminals on them, but connector should fit even though it only uses one wire.
