Help!

After using tunercat to read a file from my PCM, the fans just stay on, they never turn off. I took the PCM fuse out then they go out or when I turn off the ignition. When I try to write a file the program just says “Cannot get a response from PCM” and it says “attempting to reset PCM” then it just dies and I hear two clicks. How do I fix this?

Are you able to download the PCM at this time? If you can't get communication you may have to have a dealer reflash the PCM for you. Did you try programming before this happened? Was the programming interrupted in anyway?

Now that you described it, that is what mine did. Like I said in my previous post, I had mine done by Andrew. I don't know if he is still fixing them but you may want to check his sight @ www.AKMcables.com. Also check out Bryan's sight @ www.PCMforless.com. He may some info on fixing it. Andrew only charged me $30 for reflashing mine + s/h. Good luck,

Kyle

Well, my PCM is dead... I am just going to buy the pocket programmer and reflash the hex code into my chip and install a ZIF socket.

$149.99 for the EEPROM programmer
$5 for the ZIF sockett

The ability to fix your PCM after you fry it during programming.... Priceless

That pocket programing will not work for you. The only way to reflash your PCM is the dealer or send it out to one of the above people.

Could you explain why? Andrew supplied me with the HEX code to put on the intel chip. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Man, that sucks Rodrigues. Didn't you just recently install a cam? Was this a side effect of doing that, or were you just doing some tuning? (I'm asking because I might install a cam).
