if you can get the code read it will tell you which side is faulty. Switch the sensors around and see if the code still complains about the same side. IF it does, its prob the extension. Im not sure if you can run the car with 1 02 sensor and see what that does :S

I'm pretty sure it will do the same thing as running with no O2 sensors. It's saying BOTH sides are giving slow response.

I drove it again today with both O2's unplugged, and it drove fine. I'm going to order a new set of O2's monday.

Re: Help!

I pulled the driver side O2, and it's covered in carbon. Is this normal?

Your car is running rich and fouled O2's again. There too many things, that can make it run rich. Like MAF is reading too much air, MAP reading load, EGR can be stuck, fuel pressure regulator can be bad, or vacuum leak. Do a search.

Re: Help!

Both of the codes you are getting are O2 sensor codes so I would start with trying to get the car to a place where it can have all the codes pulled and narow down to the O2 sensor/sensors that is/are bad and replace them . If you want to know if the extention is bad I would sugest buying a $4 multi meter and checking them.

Re: Help!

My driver side collector leaks, I'm positive. All of the other sensors look fine, I have some logs from 2 weeks ago. You can see that the driver side O2 is reading low, which = lean, which I can blame on the exhaust leak.

Re: Help!

hmmm. I'm thinking your gonna have to patch that exhaust leak up. Your saying the 02 is reading lean, however its a false lean because of the escaping gas, which in turn will dump fuel to that side of the engine, which is the side in which you yanked that 02. So ya just patch that leak up and you should be good to go. BTW, what brand 02s are you using? Anything other than ACDelco is bad news.

Prolly just gonna have a new Y-pipe made Monday. They're AC Delco O2's.
